What does success in fitness look like to you?

Hey Reader,

Have you ever looked at a picture of your younger self and thought, “wow look how great I looked, why was I ever so down on myself.”

Maybe you haven’t felt that way. I definitely have.

I spent so much time in my life wanting to be fitter, skinnier, more muscle here, less muscle there, whatever. The funny thing is the people around me saw the beautiful girl I didn’t see, because I spent so much time looking at everyone else.

I would be lying to you if I said that I don’t still do this, but I have gotten so much better.

And I truly look at things differently now. What I want for myself has changed from my 20s or even teens to now in my 40s.

Health and longevity are a top priority for me as I get older, and it is a top priority for most of the women I work with. But then we peel that back a little bit. And confidence is there. Confidence in your body and how you show up in the world.

And I’m right there too. Because at the end of the day I want to put on anything I want and feel great in what I’m wearing.

Success in fitness for me at this point in my life is very simple.

It means I can wear whatever I want and feel confident in what I put on.

I don’t want to go through my clothes frustrating...EVER! I simply don't want it.

So when I can go through my drawers pull out an outfit and not think twice about how I look in it, that's when I feel the success in fitness.

Am I overjoyed to have my health and move through life comfortably and feel strong? Yes, all bonuses that really matter. But I know what I really want at the end of the day and you need to know what that is for you.

Take a moment and really think about it:

What does success in fitness look like to you?

Not what social media says.
Not what some 20-year-old influencer promises.
Not even what you used to believe years ago.

You, right now.
What would feeling successful in your health and fitness journey actually look like in your life?

Maybe it’s:

  • Getting dressed without tugging at your clothes
  • Feeling confident walking into a room
  • Sleeping through the night without aches or hot flashes
  • Feeling strong when you lift groceries or climb stairs
  • Keeping up with your kids or grandkids at the park
  • Knowing you’re doing something kind for your future self every day

For me, it’s not about a six-pack or the number on the scale.
It’s about feeling confident in my body.

And here’s the secret most plans don’t tell you:

💡 Success isn’t one big moment. It’s a hundred little choices that add up.

Drinking water instead of juice or soda.
Choosing protein + veggies first.
Doing a 20-minute workout when an hour wasn’t possible.
Pausing long enough to ask, “What do I really need right now?”

These tiny wins become your lifestyle.
And your lifestyle becomes your success story.

That’s exactly what we focus on in our personal training program—a sustainable plan that adapts to your real life. It’s designed for women who are tired of starting over and want real results they can keep.

Hey Reader, I hate the word busy, almost as much as I hate the word try. And we're programmed to use it all the time. Someone invites us to do something and we say we're busy instead of saying no, or I don't want to. We tell ourselves we're busy to avoid many things we need to do. Instead of giving ourselves permission to say no or to recognize what is a priority for ourselves right now and what isn't. Busy is worn like a badge of honor. I know this because it was one of my most used words....

Hey Reader, Silly backpacks, laundry, and an early bedtime. Sounds about right. Today is the last first day of school I will every have with my kids, and I’m on vacation. So I needed to call and check that Dominic was ready. The answer…no. The seniors are all wearing a child's backpack on the first day of school. Which I thought we took care of because we talked about it like two weeks ago. But Dominic doesn't have the child's backpack yet. Then he tells me he still needed to do laundry. Our...

Hey Reader, Happy Labor Day! September is my favorite month… And not just because it ends with my birthday lol September always feels like a fresh start.Back to routine…but this year is different. Back to routine made more sense when my kids where little because it meant that I went from a summer of the kids home all the time, waking up at different times, looking for different ways to entertain them, eating differently and at more random times to a nice structure that I have always craved....
