Summer’s been fun, but now it’s time to gently rebuild your rhythm. Let’s start small…

Hey Reader!

If you’ve ever struggled to stay consistent with healthy habits, I’ve got a simple trick that can make a HUGE difference—habit stacking.

This has become quite popular so you’ve likely heard of it and maybe even tried it before. So let’s get into it…

💡 What’s habit stacking? It’s the practice of linking new habits to ones you already do, making it easier to stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.

Here’s How to Make It Work for You:

🔹 Start Small – Instead of overhauling everything at once, add one small habit each week. Example: Drink a glass of water before your morning coffee.

🔹 Link It to an Existing Habit – If you already brush your teeth in the morning, add 5 minutes of stretching right after. Pairing new habits with old ones helps them stick!

🔹 Track Your Progress – Use an app, a journal, or a checklist to see your small wins stack up over time.

🔹 Be Consistent – The goal isn’t perfection. The more often you repeat a habit, the easier it becomes part of your routine.

🔹 Celebrate Your Wins – Every small step counts. Whether it’s swapping soda for water or getting 5 extra minutes of movement in—acknowledge your progress!

Hey Reader, So here I am after a day of eating really well, sitting on the couch winding down with a cup of tea. I'm about to make it through a successful day of eating and working out. Ricky and Emily are making chocolate chip cookies. (My son and his girlfriend.) I am unphased. 💪 Then they come out of the oven. You know that smell, I know you do and if you don't well... Do you also not like ice cream? Because you may not be human. I thought about just one cookie. But then I took a second,...

Hey Reader, I hate the word busy, almost as much as I hate the word try. And we're programmed to use it all the time. Someone invites us to do something and we say we're busy instead of saying no, or I don't want to. We tell ourselves we're busy to avoid many things we need to do. Instead of giving ourselves permission to say no or to recognize what is a priority for ourselves right now and what isn't. Busy is worn like a badge of honor. I know this because it was one of my most used words....

Hey Reader, Have you ever looked at a picture of your younger self and thought, “wow look how great I looked, why was I ever so down on myself.” Maybe you haven’t felt that way. I definitely have. I spent so much time in my life wanting to be fitter, skinnier, more muscle here, less muscle there, whatever. The funny thing is the people around me saw the beautiful girl I didn’t see, because I spent so much time looking at everyone else. I would be lying to you if I said that I don’t still do...
