I just want to enjoy the holidays (without giving up everything)

Hi Reader,

Thanksgiving week is here — which means two things:

✨ Great food
✨ And a LOT of pressure

Pressure to “be good,” pressure to control yourself, pressure to not undo all your progress…
and then pressure to “just enjoy it” because it’s the holidays.

No wonder so many women feel stressed before the turkey is even in the oven.

Here's a little secret about me...🙄

Every year I plan to use September as my “reset before the holidays.”
And honestly? It usually does help… for a while.

But life happens. Routines wobble. And suddenly the holidays are here — fast — and I’m walking into the season feeling the same pressures you do.

Yes, I’m a nutritionist and personal trainer…
but I’m also a woman.

And I feel it all:

— The pressure to stay on track
— The pressure to enjoy everything without “overdoing it”
— The pressure of holiday outfits and photos
— And yes… the pressure of “What will people think if I don’t look perfectly fit?”

The logical part of me knows no one is analyzing my body, my life, what's on my plate...
They’re just excited to spend time together.

But it doesn’t stop those little thoughts from trying to creep in.

So if you feel that mix of joy + stress + pressure this time of year?
You’re not alone — and nothing is wrong with you.

And that’s exactly why I want to share a better way to approach this week…

👉You don’t need to choose between enjoying the holidays and staying committed to your goals.

You can do both — without restriction, guilt, or starting over on Monday.😉

Let me give you a better way to approach this week:

1️⃣ Choose your “non-negotiables” ahead of time

Not rules.
Not restrictions.
Just 2–3 simple anchors that keep you grounded.

Examples:

  • Drink water before each meal
  • Eat Protein and Greens first
  • Go for a 10-minute walk after dinner
  • Prioritize a short workout Thanksgiving morning

Tiny commitments — huge impact.

2️⃣ Enjoy your favorite foods on purpose

The foods that you love?
Have them!
Mindfully.
Slowly.
No guilt.

Overeating doesn’t usually come from the food —
it comes from feeling like you “shouldn’t” have it.

3️⃣ Remember: One meal doesn’t make or break your progress

Your body responds to patterns, not one holiday plate.

If you’re consistent most days, Thanksgiving isn’t going to undo anything.
(Seriously. I promise.)

4️⃣ The most important one…

Give yourself permission to enjoy the day.

Stress affects your health far more than cranberry sauce ever will.

You’re allowed to enjoy your family.
You’re allowed to eat the foods you look forward to.
You’re allowed to feel proud of yourself — even if it’s not a “perfect” week.

Because perfection was never the goal.
Progress is.
Consistency is.
Taking care of yourself — mentally and physically — is.

You’re doing that more than you realize.

You’ve got this. ❤️

Womans fitness over 40

Hey Reader, You know that feeling when you think you can’t do something…and then somehow, you do? Sometimes it’s a big thing.Sometimes it’s small. Sometimes it’s tiny. But those tiny ones? They often mean the most. This morning, for me, it was a plank.I usually hold a 2-minute plank during my morning flow. But today? I wasn’t feeling it. At all. I figured I’d just do one minute and call it good. I hit start, zoned out a little, and peeked at the timer — 58 seconds. Okay… maybe I have a little...

Hey Reader, There was this company I worked for in my 20s that sold healthy prepped meals in grocery stores. I was one of their brand ambassadors—offering samples and talking to people about how convenient healthy eating could be. I’ll never forget this one guy. Fit. Muscular. Cart full of junk food. He smirks and says, “I work out so I can eat like this.” Now, we won’t unpack all the layers of that mindset today (or where it might have lead him when he got older), but I do want to touch on...
