[A little Sunday Reminder] Before you jump into a post-holiday diet…

Hey Reader,

This is the time of year when quick fixes feel extra tempting, right?

“Shrink before the holiday party.”
“Start fresh January.”
“Go low-carb until Christmas.”

You can’t scroll, shop, or check email without seeing some kind of “fast” solution promising to undo what you ate or speed up what you want.

But here’s the part no one talks about enough — especially for women over 40:

Your body always pays the price for quick fixes.

And the holidays make them even more dangerous because it becomes this cycle of…

Eat → guilt → restrict → binge → promise to “fix it” tomorrow.

Sound familiar?

Plus, you may have noticed…

Those quick fixes that worked in your twenties don’t even seem to work anymore in your forties and fifties.

Because if you spent years relying on quick fixes, your body is fighting back.

Here’s what really happens:

🚫 You slash calories thinking you’re being “good”…
but your metabolism slows down and your cravings get worse.

🚫 You try to be perfect with food all week…
then the moment real life happens (a party, a dinner, stress), you rebound hard.

🚫 You do the punishing workouts to “make up for it”…
and your body ends up inflamed, exhausted, and less responsive.

None of that is your fault.
It’s what diet culture taught you.

But here’s the truth your body wants you to hear:

You don’t need quick fixes.

You need a steady foundation.

Especially during the holidays.
Especially during perimenopause and beyond. (In my mind I was like “to perimenopause and beyond”, Could you hear it? lol)
Especially when your hormones and metabolism are shifting.

What actually works?

✅ Nourishing your body with real food
✅ Lifting weights so your metabolism stays strong
✅ Moving more in real life (NEAT!)
✅ Keeping things simple when life gets busy
✅ Being consistent enough, not perfect
✅ Treats included — without guilt

Nothing extreme.
Nothing punishing.
Nothing that steals your joy.

Just habits that support you — through December, through the holidays, through the chaos… and into 2026 and beyond. (sorry I just had to.)

And if you’re tired of trying to “fix” things every January…

If you want to stop starting over…

If you want a plan that builds you up instead of breaking you down…

My Online Personal Training program was designed exactly for this season of life.

No guesswork.
No quick fixes.
Just a sustainable plan that works with your hormones, metabolism, schedule, and goals.

Hey Reader, We are really in December! Oh man… I haven’t hit the fitness goals I wanted to and although that could be frustrating I know why and what I need to do. This week I’m finishing up my outdoor bootcamp so I won’t have the added outdoor workout I’ve been doing. This means it’s really important for me to have my own workouts and a plan. And I do. Monday I am starting my holiday workout plan, with grace of course, as it is the holidays and I’m not looking for all or nothing. I’m also...

Hi Reader, What if I told you there’s a powerful way to support fat loss during the holidays without adding more workouts? And nope it's not a detox, not eating “perfectly,” and definitely not skipping your favorite foods. Let me explain… You ever have a day where you’re totally exhausted, but you didn’t even work out? Yep, me too. Here’s a perfect example: I live on the third floor. No elevator. So days like today—laundry day—I’m back and forth a lot.Plus watering plants… running errands… and...

Hi Reader, You know that weird feeling that happens after Thanksgiving?Where part of you wants to ease back into your routine and the other part thinks: “I’ll just wait until after the holidays… or January… or when things calm down…” I get it! It was too easy for me to wake up this morning “talking about Sunday as I’m writing this” and just relax with a cup of tea and a slow morning. But at 8:15am, yes I slept in… Everyone in my house was a sleep and I was well rested. A quiet empty house is...
