Diets aren’t the answer. Here’s what is (especially over 40)

Hey Reader!

You know that voice in your head that says...

“I need to get stricter.”
“Cut carbs. Cut sugar. Cut more.”
“Maybe I just need more willpower.”

If that’s been on repeat lately, I want you to pause and take a breath.

Because when it comes to your body—especially in perimenopause—restrictive dieting isn’t just unhelpful…

👉 It’s working against you.

Hormonal shifts in your 40s and beyond (hello, estrogen drop!) can lead to changes in how your body stores fat, craves food, and even processes stress.

And when you layer on calorie-cutting, carb-demonizing, all-or-nothing food rules… it usually leads to:

• Slowed metabolism
• Low energy
• Mood swings
• And a cycle of frustration that feels impossible to break

It’s time for a better approach. One that works with your body—not against it.

Here’s what I help women over 40 focus on instead:

Protein at every meal
Think: Greek yogurt, lentils, eggs, fish—these help balance blood sugar, reduce cravings, and protect your muscle mass (your metabolism loves that).

Stop fearing carbs
Whole grains, starchy veggies, sourdough—yes, please. When you pair them with protein and fats, they stabilize you, not sabotage you.

Lift weights
Strength training helps combat muscle loss, builds stronger bones, and boosts metabolism. Two to three short sessions a week can be life-changing.

Stay hydrated
Perimenopause often increases dehydration risk. Aim for 8–10 cups per day. It helps with cravings, fatigue, and even hot flashes.

Ditch food guilt
Mindful eating lets you enjoy your favorite foods in moderation. It’s not about saying no forever—it’s about creating a balanced, enjoyable way of eating that lasts.

The goal?
💪 More strength
✨ More energy
❤️ More confidence
And a body that feels like yours again.

You don’t have to overhaul your life. Just start with one change.

Hey Reader! Years ago, my fitness routine was intense—5-6 workouts a week, rigid eating habits, pushing through fatigue. And you know what? It worked…until it didn’t. Health and fitness was such a apart of my life, that I could take fitness breaks and binge on ice cream all summer or cookies and hot cocoa for the holidays and bounce right back every September and every February. Some of you might even remember my old emails, talking about getting back on track as soon as the kids went back to...

Hello Reader, Ever feel like you’re putting in the effort, but not seeing the results you expected? You’re not alone. Fitness frustration is so common—but it doesn’t mean you’re failing. Here’s why you might be feeling stuck (and what to do about it): ❌ Expecting Instant Results: It takes 4-8 weeks to see visible changes, but your body is improving internally right away—more energy, better sleep, and stronger muscles. ❌ Inconsistent Workouts & Nutrition: Fitness is a long game. Skipping...

Hey Reader! We all know consistency is key when it comes to fitness—but actually sticking with it? That’s where most people struggle. ➡️Here’s how to make exercise a lasting habit (without feeling like a chore): ✔ Find Your “Why” – Do you want more energy? Less stress? To keep up with your kids? A strong reason "WHY" makes motivation easier. ✔ Choose Workouts You Enjoy – Hate running? Don’t run! Love strength training? Do that. Exercise should feel good, not like punishment. ✔ Make a Schedule...
