You’re not overeating… you’re undernourished

Hey Reader,

My daughter made a comment the other day that got me thinking.

She said, "Mommy you should have let us eat bad food when we were little, because it’s way worst now. Now it’s not even real."

And she told me how she’s not giving her kids fake food, because by then there won’t be any food in food. Obviously her logic is silly, and I’m glad they grew up on real food, even when they show up with takis or chick fa la. You learn to be less frustrated when your kids become teenagers and telling them what to do leads to doing more of what you don’t want them to do.

But like I said, it had me thinking.

Food really isn’t food anymore. I mean have you seen ice cream. I won’t going to brands, but some brands I loved growing up can’t even put ice cream on the label anymore. It’s a frozen cream product or something like that.

So I’m revamping my emails for April.

It was going to be all about a spring reset but I wanna talk this month about how real food vs “fake” food effects your results and nutrient absorbtion. And surprisingly you may find it’s not as hopeless as the internet makes it sound.

I know I’ve spoken a lot this year about how the women I work with don’t have a willpower problem.

They don’t need more discipline.
They don’t need to “try harder.”
And they definitely don’t need to eat less.

But they do feel stuck, and food as a lot to do with it.

The low energy.
Constant cravings.
Bloating that won’t go away.
Weight that won’t budge—even when they’re “doing everything right.”

It’s a food problem, but not what most people think.

I assure you MOST of my clients are NOT overeating.
They’re undernourished.

So let me explain.

A huge percentage of what we eat today isn’t really food in the way your body recognizes it. It’s designed to taste good, last long, and be convenient, but not necessarily to nourish you.

So even if calories are there… nutrients often aren’t.

And it goes deeper than that.

When your diet is made up mostly of ultra-processed foods:
• Your gut health starts to decline
• Your body struggles to absorb key nutrients
• Your hunger signals get thrown off
• Your energy drops, cravings rise

So what happens?

You eat more… trying to feel satisfied
But your body still isn’t getting what it actually needs

You ever feel really hungry but you don't think you should? Well, until you feed you're body what it actually needs it's going to keep asking for more.

That’s the cycle.

This is why I don’t start with restriction.

I don’t tell my clients to cut everything out or overhaul their life overnight.

Instead, we focus on something much more powerful:

👉 Giving your body what it’s been missing

Adding in more real, nutrient-dense foods
Supporting digestion and absorption
Building meals that actually satisfy you

Because when your body is properly nourished…

Cravings calm down
Energy stabilizes
Fat loss becomes easier
And you stop feeling like you’re constantly “starting over”

It’s not about perfection.
It’s about giving your body the tools it needs to work with you.

If you’ve been feeling stuck lately, this might be the missing piece.

👉 So Let's Reflect: Before you go to bed tonight, I want you to ask yourself.

“What did I actually nourish my body with today?”

Stay tuned because next week I’l dive it more on the real, nutrient-dense foods I’m referring to and a topic I call “crowding out” rather than restrictive eating.

And if you’re ready for a more structured approach to this—one that actually fits your life—I’ll show you exactly how we do it inside my online personal training program.

Hey Reader, You know that feeling when you start something new—and suddenly you're flooded with doubts? You look around and see other women crushing workouts, meal prepping like pros, hitting goals left and right. And there you are… just trying to figure out where to begin. Here’s what I want you to remember: Never compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. You don’t know how long they’ve been showing up.You don’t know what it took for them to get there. You only know where you are—and...

Hey Reader, By now, you may have noticed, February has a very specific energy. I love February for all the boring normalness it brings in my life. A mostly regular routine to help me get back on track and build up momentum. Don't get me wrong life always throws things my way but February energy was different. And as it comes to an end I want to really embrace that. The excitement of January has worn off. The “fresh start” feeling is quieter. You've got a solid routine or maybe you're...

What's Up! Sometimes social media just makes me laugh. I mean especially now with AI, but it's rarely ever been realistic. Most people are showing you their highlight real. Its rare to see the raw and real. And when it is real, you don't always see the struggle to get their. And that struggle matters. Social media is full of “after” photos.Smiling faces, sculpted abs, glowing skin. The destination. You rarely see: 💧 The early mornings 💪 The skipped takeout 🧠 The mental battles 🔁 The days it...
