The Simplest Nutrition Hack I’ve Ever Learned

If you've followed me for a long time you know, I used to be a serious meal prepper. I mean I had created the pretty meal kits and even lunch boxes for all my kids. It was picture perfect!

Boy does life not always work like that. I mean that was a serious all or nothing part of my life and my life has changed so much since those days. I won't say that I can't do it now, because I know if I actually wanted to I could. However, not only do I not want to, I don't need to.

I was convinced that eating healthy meant I had to eat every meal exactly as planned, and hours of prep time every week.

Sound familiar?

Hmmmm, But Nicole you always say to plan and prep your meals. Now you're saying not to. ??? 🤨🤔

No no, the more you plan and prep meals the easier it is to stay on track and eat healthy. But having every meal prepped for every day, week, month, doesn't work for evey person and every part of their life.

I eventually switched to what I called mommy meal prep but it's really just batch cooking and throwing meals together throughout the week based on what I batch cooked. But even that can become easier...

This one simple shift can change everything: Building meals around protein first.

Instead of worrying about every nutrient or macro, I will focus on one thing: What’s my protein? Greek yogurt for breakfast, salmon for lunch, lentils at dinner—this easy change can balanced your meals, cut cravings, boost metabolism, and even simplify grocery shopping. It's even easier to decide what veggies to eat with it. Because, well, whats a meal without veggies?
